Japan : Day 3 & 4

Our own little tour of Chiba, and plant tour.

Dinner at Saizeriya, one of the famous cheap Italian food chain in Japan. One of my favorite lepak place during uni days. You can find this restaurant all over Japan and it's crazy cheap! There's a lot of seafood in the menu so you don't have to worry about which (halal) dish to choose.

Chiba city at night

Plant tour!

The awesome people I work with

In the tour bus while waiting for the guys to finish looking at all the ships there.

On another note, some of you might read the news about earthquakes occurring in Chiba and Tokyo area recently. We were in Chiba when it happened, but Alhamdulillah everything was fine. It was normal for the Japanese to have quakes so there were hardly any chaos; I didn't even realized it at first cause we were at the train station and I thought the "vibration" was because of the train. Talk about noob.

Japan : Day 1 & 2

OK so we WERE on business trip..but that doesn't mean we were holed up in meeting rooms and plants.

Will be splitting post by day(s) there, for memories' sake.

MAS Golden Lounge; where I found my food heaven

Otw to the office on second day

Dinner with Japanese colleagues at a famous unagi restaurant

 Unagi!

Came back to the hotel room and saw Matsujun on TV for the first time after I left Japan last year. Was the happiest girl that night.

my old kampung.

So I've reached Tokyo safe and sound last Sunday, in case you guys were wondering. Been holding to my laptop for dear life since I've reached here cause my phone line is totally out (didn't know I'm supposed to pay Maxis in advance for roaming, so yeah, I'm phone-less now) and since this guest house only have internet cable line and no wifi, I can only use laptop at night after the whole day of meetings and discussions.

Now, if your boss asked you to go business trip overseas, THINK TWICE. I'm currently in the place so dear to my heart and yet my day is spent..in the freaking office. It's so frustrating I could cry.

But still, breathing in the familiar air is nice. Having the food I used to have during uni days at the uni's cafe is nice. Talking to this people, in the language I've abandoned for nearly a year, is nice.

Coffee during meetings and discussions. Japanese coffee is way thicker than what we used to have in Malaysia, so it's not surprising that they prefer ours so much.

 Our current "office"

 What we had for dinner

And what I bought after dropping by a bookstore just now. The first Japanese album I've ever bought, the first Rachael Yamagata's CD, the CD I used to borrow from a friend's many collections. Got MCR's for 500 yen and Rachael Y's for freaking 250 yen, and they're in mint condition!

Screw souvenirs, I'm bringing back CDs from now on.

heading back to the second home I've missed

This week had been a hectic week for me, and tomorrow I'm off to Tokyo. It's actually a business trip so getting excited over it isn't even worth it cause yeah, I'll be working (pfft) but still, I've missed the place so much I'd get excited over the washlets there.

Heck, I'd get excited over anything there.

So I spent the day getting some warm clothes for the trip; since I gave away (almost) all my jackets and coats to my juniors last year and I'm left with a leather jacket which I left at Penang. Yes, I'm a genius.

But the good side of it - I got new ones!

I've always had my eyes on wool and knitted jumpers and coats, but never really gotten around with the idea of buying them because usually the good ones would cost you a fortune. Going in and out Zara every once in a while when I was in Japan was hard because of this; Zara has the nicest knitted coats, I swear. I love the cut, the texture, the polish figure, everything.

The feeling of not having to justify over purchases is really nice.

chic platforms.

Since I'm going to be in a 5 degree Celsius all-day climate sometime soon, I figured I might need some covered shoes to accompany my poor feet. (it's still in planning though, but now I can't sleep at night thinking about it :))

Ever since I came back from Japan, my shoe fetish level has gone down to zero. I don't like shoes as much anymore, I don't know why. Even while looking for proper office shoes sometime ago, I didn't really give it much thought.

"uh this is nice, it's in black color. I'll take it"

But after my fingers learned to browse shoes' images on Google again, I can't stop staring at these.

Above everything else, I always prefer platforms especially after I realized how badly I've treated my feet. With heels, there's always a price to pay - and without my constant nagging boyfriend, I might've even worn them to bed! That explains a lot on why I rarely wear them when he's around. Hehe.

But these Chic Yamada's platforms are really cute and chic, I feel like getting them in each color. The first thought that came to my mind was "this is so Lady Gaga-esque, it's too much" because of the unique texture, but over time, (this is why Googling is bad for you) I came to find that these are so not Lady Gaga.

(Taken from their website)

I'm still considering since each of these cost 299 bucks and I don't know if I can justify my 300 bucks over a platform.

As for heels, it's a different case.
